Most of the pilots enlisted in the IDSF are honourable and would not resort to cheating for any reason. However they may always be a few how will (its only human nature). The IDSF has very strict policies in place, designed to deal with this sort of thing. Please review this policy very carefully so you are aware what is acceptable.
Turning on any of the above options is not considered cheating. Please bear in mind that if you do no high scores are possible all scores a reduced to 10% of what they would have been.
Using any external program or trainer that works with the game you are playing is strictly forbidden, as it would give you an unfair advantage.
This is also strictly forbidden. You must not use a mission editor or hex editor to change any part of an official IDSF Battle. If the battle you are playing has a bug, which prevents you from completing the mission, you are required to submit a bug report, and if you wish to wait until the Tactical Office corrects that bug. If high scores and the like do not concern you, you may skip the mission (see next section). With all the best intension if you do edit the mission in anyway, you may have created the opportunity to achieve a higher score, and as such have an unfair advantage over everybody else.
While
it is not against the IDSF Rules to skip one mission there are certain
guidelines that have to be followed. You
may only skip a mission if there is a critical bug that stops it from being
completed. When you edit the pilot file you must add a 0 as the score for that
mission. You must also submit a battle bug report to the Tactical Office.
Finally when you submit the Battle to your superior you must mention what
mission was skipped and why. If you cannot skip more than one mission in a
battle. If any pilot files are rec’d like this no credit will be given.
There
might be a few of you who are tempted to use a pilot file editor to change some
of the scores after playing a battle. Please note that this is easy enough to
detect and anyone caught doing so will be referred to the ISB for IDSF Legal
proceedings to be taken against them. THERE
IS NO REASON TO EDIT A PILOT FILE EXCEPT FOR SKIPPING A MISSION.
While
it sometimes you will accidentally shoot down one of your wingmen or allied
fighter, it is not feasible to accidentally kill one of your own capital ships
and is strictly forbidden.
You
are not permitted to share your pilot files with any other pilot in the fleet to
enable them to take credit for flying the battle the pilot file is for. Any
person caught doing so will be referred to the ISB as well as the person who
presented the file to that individual.
Any pilot of the IDSF including any member of the Command Staff caught in direct violation of this policy will be referred to the Imperial Security Bureau for prosecution.
Please
note that at the current time the Tactical Officer and Imperial Security Bureau
Director are in discussion about the penalties that will be incurred.
